What is a fighter?
Why is it named like that?
These are two of the questions that I was asking myself when I was writing the original classes on paper.
First of all, lets clear out my holly principles. By holly principles I defined these rules that abide the entirety of my game design document/s !
What I mean by that is that these rules are the ones that will be mainly followed by the game itself and will also drive any future updates that may be required to be engineered in the game design.
So, one of my Holly Principles is then following. The games’ characters may start as on of the following 5 classes.
Fighter – Rogue – Mage – Hunter – Cleric !
These 5 categories will compose the entirety of the base classes for my game for the time being.
Yes yes base classes. Since in my Holly Principles exists the concept of upgrading someone’s class.
But this will be included on a later post.
As you just read one of the base classes is the fighter.
So, the Fighter represents the pinnacle of a champion that knows quite well what hand to hand combat is all about.
He is not afraid to take the responsibility of protecting his party’s members in any way possible.
Putting his sword, axe, mace, shield or whatever else he holds in his hands, for the goal of demolishing his opponents is never a question. Is a global constant.
Maybe he is not the greatest leader during map examining. Though in the field of battle his morale boasting capabilities for himself and his party can turn the tables.
His Opinion for his party members : Rogue : Last time you were helpful, this time make it count more.
Mage : I take the beef, after you cook it.
Hunter : Aim well, aim fast.
Cleric : You have my back right ?
His Opinion for his opponents :
Rogue : So look who did I find here.
Mage : Anyone weak in weekend’s gym activities claims he is smart.
Hunter : I can use that bow to floss my teeth.
Cleric : Prays from the deep… …and he is dead!
While many may think that the Fighter is arrogant, this can be misleading.
His knowledge and adaptation to the flow of battle is unparalleled. This makes him the very best person in the room to charge in when the commander calls it… …or even when he does not!
His scars as he ages serve as the book that he will give to the new young adventurers and teach them the pros and cons of the duels. But do not be mistaken. His pride is great. For when he is ready to speak up to injustice ( as he perceives it ) , then the other person in the room is most likely unconscious. Or he is already running!
Post-closing:
Texts are originally mine. I love to write quite a lot pen and paper style stories. All of these will be included in the game when I decide to gather the texts ( lets firstly have something to play shouldn’t we ? ) !
PS : If anyone thinks that I may have described something on a different manner please do so and send me a message. I am super open for other people’s opinions.
Until the next post and class... The Rogue!!!
